Robert Verschoor now knows KLINGER inside and out. In 2011, he made the switch to KLINGER after previously working for one of the company’s suppliers. He started in the office and, after ten years, made the move to the field. He has now been working as a Sales Engineer for the South Holland region for five years, with the Port of Rotterdam as a key part of his territory.
Keep learning and growing
Robert was already familiar with KLINGER from his previous job. After a few productive conversations, he decided to make the switch—a decision he still looks back on with satisfaction. After ten years in the office, Robert was given the opportunity to move into the field. It was a logical next step for someone who enjoys continuing to develop professionally. “I’ve always had a healthy sense of ambition. When, after ten very enjoyable years in the office, a position opened up in the field, I jumped at the chance right away!”
Robert has now been working as a sales engineer for five years. Even after all these years, his work continues to challenge him. “I’m still discovering new things every day. That’s exactly what I find so interesting about my job.”
On the road a lot, close to the customer
As a Sales Engineer, Robert serves as the point of contact for customers in his region. He maintains relationships, seeks out new opportunities, and connects customers with the right colleagues at KLINGER. He also finds the nature of his work rewarding. Through the solutions offered by KLINGER , he contributes to safer processes and a better, more sustainable industry. That gives his work extra meaning.
Robert is often on the road, talking on the phone with clients and colleagues, and visiting various companies. And if a client has an urgent question, he’ll sometimes quickly hop in his car. “KLINGER is seen as a reliable partner with a wealth of knowledge. Our advice matters, and people trust what we do. At the same time, KLINGER has the charm of a family business, where people are the focus.”
His advice to future colleagues?
“Be sure to check out KLINGER. Take a tour of the facility and see for yourself what it’s like here. Then you’ll get a sense of that family-like atmosphere I’m talking about.”
