The invention of the Reflex level gauge device by Richard Klinger marks the start of the KLINGER company. In 1893, the first production company was opened in Gumpoldskirchen, Austria.
The first KLINGER sealing material was made in 1898, and in 1922 KLINGER came out with their first control valves.
In 1928, the company was acquired by Karl Klinger. Under his leadership, the company continues to develop, particularly in the field of seals. The company develops Klingerit steam seals and PTFE sealing materials.
Then in 1957 the company is taken over by Hubert Klinger-Lohr and the company continues to grow on an international level. Also in 1968, KLINGER receives a patent for Ballostar ball valves.
1973 is the year of the founding of PICOFF in Rotterdam, started by Frits Mühlenbruch. In 1984, this company merges with Klinger and becomes KLINGER PICOFF.
Rapid growth takes place in the Netherlands during this period and the company's name is changed to KLINGER BV. In 1982 new sealing materials are developed on an international level, including KLINGERSIL.
This period is particularly marked by the invention of a revolutionary high temperature sealing material called KLINGER Quantum. It also focuses on ball valves & launch KLINGER TopChem seals.
The opening of a new production ball valve plant in Austria. Tomas Klinger-Lohr is the fourth generation of the Klinger family to lead the KLINGER Group.
In 2010, Frits Mühlenbruch becomes CEO of KLINGER worldwide
Ton van Erkelens becomes general manager KLINGER Netherlands.
Since 2012 there has been more focus on Group management & Strategic plans. In 2015 even more attention was paid to this by the formering of the KLINGER Group Management Board. There is more focus on services and organic growth, including outside Europe.
In 2018, Christoph Klinger-Lohr joins the management of the KLINGER Group.
