Marjolein has been with KLINGER The Netherlands for almost two years as Management Assistant
"Since March 1, 2022, I have been employed at KLINGER. I ended up here through a (former) colleague. After looking for some time for a new challenge, I went for an interview at KLINGER and this was actually an instant match. Upon entering I immediately experienced a warm welcome from all colleagues and within no time I felt like I had been part of the KLINGER team for years."
The duties of Management Assistant in brief
"When I started at KLINGER I was given a lot of room to make the position my own over time. As Management Assistant, I perform secretarial, administrative, facility and organizational work in support of board and management team members. For example: I was part of the roll-out of the new telephony system, I support the HR manager in the daily activities, I make sure everything is arranged at meetings to arranging personnel and business gifts. As cliché as it sounds but a real jack-of-all-trades is how I describe it."
A workday for Marjolein is always incredibly variable.
"I don't really have a typical work day. I usually start at the beginning of the day by dealing with the priority emails in my inbox. This is how I determine my action items for that day or just which ones I'm going to deal with in the coming week. In between, there will be some ad hoc issues that come up, but the very fact that there is no typical work day is what makes my work week so fun and varied. No day is the same, the days are dynamic and give me energy so that they really fly by. It really is true: 'time flies when you're having fun'."
The work culture and colleagues of KLINGER
"The lines are short and you notice that we can all appreciate the Rotterdam sobriety. Everyone is willing to help each other and is there for each other. There is also room for a bit of fun from time to time. In Rotterdam, KLINGER consists of about 120 colleagues. Still, I really experience a family feeling."
